Judy LeGrand, Reflexologist, LMT
Judy LeGrand, co-owner of Relaxing Alternatives, came from a medical background as she worked in a doctor’s office as well as the hospital’s labor and delivery as a surgical operating assistant for 20 years.
She has been involved with alternative and holistic wellness since 1991. Her initial training was in the field of Reiki and Reflexology, but has continued to expand over the years to include a wide range of healing modalities. As a Licensed Massage Therapist, she has training in shiatsu, neuromuscular, craniosacral and tui na. While she is a Reiki Master, her training in energetic healing also includes Sechim, Touch for Health, Kinesiology, Thought Field Therapy and Metamorphosis/Metamorphic Technique. The majority of her work involves a combination of many of these therapies into what she calls BodyMind Integrated Reflexology. By incorporating and applying portions of these various techniques, she is able to treat the client as a whole, not just physically but emotionally and spiritually as well.
She also utilizes aromatherapy in her work including Raindrop Technique as well as Rocks and Raindrop, a combination of hot stone massage and aromatherapy treatment. She is also one of our two practitioners who performs ear candling.
Judy is generally available Monday through Saturday during normal business hours.
Licensed acupuncturist and massage therapist Christina Sarlo operates on the premise that, “Your body is wise.” Acupuncture serves as the perfect complement to what your body is telling you, which is why she encourages you to listen to what it says.
Christina has a long proven history in healing the body; she has six years of experience as an acupuncturist and 13 as a massage therapist. Combining both, Christina brings the comfort and skill of her bodywork experience to her current practice, using supplemental methods such as aromatherapy, gua sha and cupping to help release toxins and tension.
Christina wants clients to feel at home, as healing should always take place in a safe and relaxed environment. Each tranquil, energy-driven session includes a variety of holistic healing modalities, recharging the body and mind, alleviating pain and lessening stress levels.
The depth of Christina’s knowledge in Eastern medicine has been helpful not only to patients but for budding acupuncturists as well, as she supervises and has also taught others the arts of acupuncture and massage therapy throughout her career.
Christina has been a practitioner of holistic healing methods since 1995, and has studied a multitude of modalities, including acupuncture, neuromuscular massage (trigger point), manual lymph drainage, Thai yoga, health kinesiology, aromatherapy, reflexology, cupping and Chinese herbal remedies.
Following in the footsteps of retired acupuncturist Reggi Norton, Christina employs light beam generators in her treatments to stimulate the lymphatic system and speed healing. She also works to reduce allergy symptoms.
Amy Beth Rautner, L.Ac., Dipl. Ac.
Amy Beth Rautner, licensed acupuncturist, created the Chi of Life Acupuncture clinic upon receiving a masters-level degree in acupuncture from the Maryland Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland, and her Diplomate (national certification) from the National Commission on Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
She maintains her acupuncture license with the Maryland Department of Health and Virginia Board of Medicine, and is a member of the Maryland Acupuncture Society and the Acupuncture Society of Virginia.
Ms. Rautner’s philosophy of acupuncture is that the patient should be thoroughly comfortable and relaxed during each treatment, to enable their body to receive maximum benefits from the realignment of energy that stimulates the body’s own healing process. By inserting very small needles (approximately the width of a human hair) through the skin at key locations along the meridian (or energetic) pathways, the balance of Qi flowing through the meridians can be corrected, enabling the body to heal and correct unwanted conditions. Ms. Rautner strongly believes that the process of inserting these needles should be comfortable and pain free, and her technique is focused on ensuring the comfort of each patient. She creates an environment that induces optimal relaxation.
The treatment regimen for any disorder typically requires a series of sessions, to enable the Qi in the meridians to gradually realign and restore the natural health and balance of the body. Based on each patient’s diagnosis, she may combine the use of Chinese herbal formulas and/or diet modification with acupuncture therapy as part of a holistic healing process based on the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) understanding of healing and wellness.
Acupuncture is used to treat a wide range of health concerns, from sports injuries to chronic, long-term health conditions. Ms. Rautner has successfully treated conditions such as:
- Digestive Disorders
- Headaches and Migraines
- Menstrual Health
- Breast Health
- Stress Management
- Sports Injuries (muscular/joint)
- Allergies and Asthma
- Radiation-Induced Nausea (adjunct therapy with Western Oncology)
- Wellness Maintenance (Seasonal)

Reiki Master/Spiritual Life Coach
Hello Everyone! My name is Dawn Secada. I am so happy to be back living in my native area and so excited to offer healing services at Relaxing Alternatives Wellness Center!
I was born in Alexandria, VA and raised in McLean, VA. I moved to New York a few years ago and just returned to our beautiful area! I’m so happy to be back home!
I’ve been studying energy healing for more than 25 years. However, to talk about what I do, you’ll need to have a brief understanding of who I am and what my background is.
During my life, I suffered with so much illness which eventually brought me to a Near Death Experience (NDE) 5 years ago. I was in a coma for 2 weeks and my prognosis was very poor. When I awakened from the coma, I had knowledge and abilities (gifts) I didn’t have before. I also realized that part of the reason I became so ill was because of western medicine and that if I continued solely on this path, I wouldn’t be here any longer. A couple of months after my release from the hospital, I received a Shamanic healing which led me to take Shamanic Healing workshops. These workshops transformed my life. After these workshops, I collaborated with another amazing Spiritual Energy & Shamanic Healer in New York. I left the D.C. area and received numerous healings (too many to count) and became healthy. I went from someone being so extremely ill to someone so vibrant and healthy today! Because of what happened to me and my first-hand knowledge of going through this process, I know this has been a gift in my life that I would love to share with others. Healing, serving and helping others in this manner is my life’s work now. I can show you how you too can enjoy a better quality of life through different modalities of healing. You, too can have a life free from illness.
These are the things I offer: Reiki Healing with Chakra Balancing, Shamanic Healing, Spiritual Energy Healing & Clearing and Spiritual & Life Guidance Coaching.
I would be honored to show you other ways to heal, clear negativity from your body, mind and heart so you can feel peace, love and joy!
Thank you. I send you much love, light and blessings,
